Tickets are $15. Children (4-12) are $8. There is also a Senior Rate of $13.
The Ticket includes both Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty.
Please book the departure from the LIBERTY STATE PARK, which is in NEW JERSEY (rather than Battery Park in NYC).
I suggest a departure time of 10:00, 11:00, or 12:00.
Tickets are obtained by calling 877-523-9849, or visiting www.StatueCruises.com
I am mentioning the Statue of Liberty now, because of recent changes that you may want to take advantage of ... but it would likely require action on your part soon - if you want to go to the crown at the top!
On Tuesday, July 6, 2010 our plan is to gather people together (in the various cars) and drive to the Statue of Liberty (90 minutes away, the NJ side), spending several hours there and Ellis Island (which is the recently-opened historical gateway to immigration into the US).
As of June 2009, the US is once-again allowing visitors to climb to the top of Lady Liberty's Crown (354 steps, or 22 stories) ... but ONLY 30 people per hour - and reservations are required. Reservations can be made up to one year in advance by calling 877-523-9849, or visiting www.StatueCruises.com ... I'd suggest trying for the 10, 11, or 12:00 hours. Note: when ordering tickets, please note we would be departing from LIBERTY STATE PARK, NEW JERSEY. Only 4 tickets to the Crown can be purchased at once.
I should emphasize that pre-ordering tickets to climb up the crown is NOT necessary to enjoy the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island - the biggest attraction is the outside view (not climbing up). It is very likely that only a small number of our reunion group will climb up the inside of the statue - with most enjoying the view from the outside. Still, I climbed to the crown many years ago, and quite enjoyed the experience.
